From the Governor:
Happy Easter! |
| Greetings! Well, the 2006-07 Moose year is coming to an end. A lot of
positive changes have and continue to occur thanks to a lot of members'
help. Due to the various members volunteering this past year, and not wanting
to offend anyone by accidently leaving a name off a list, I want to thank
everyone, you know who you are, who volunteered time, money and effort this
past year to keep the Moose Family Center running and being the best place
to participate as a family in the variety of activities offered. As I look
back over the year, here are the changes that occurred this past year. L.O.O.M.
695 and W.O.T.M. 1093 effectively cooperated with each other using a joint
board and meetings that allows each entity to maintain their individuality,
while successfully working together to keep the center more family activity
minded. The men and women worked together on Moose home improvement projects,
with monetary and physical effort, such as the completed kitchen remodeling
(ceiling tiles, through cleaning, etc.), projects in progress (Children's
room, freshening up the dining hall and social quarters) In addition, the
two groups, through individual and joint efforts and resources, maintained
on-going activities and organized new activities. Activities that members
and their families/guests enjoyed this past year: include: Annual Moose
Picnic, Halloween for the kids, St. Patrick's Day, Anniversary, Christmas
Dinner with Santa, Easter Dinner, Valentine's Day Dinner, Super Bowl Party,
youth Battle of the Bands, Craft Fair and much more; and of course our on-going
activities: Friday night suppers, Steak nights, and Saturday Dances.
I look forward to seeing members, their families and guests actively participating in these currently schedule events: Trivia Night (4/14), Easter Brunch (4/8 menu and prices to be announced), Class Enrollment (4/22 at 5 p.m.), and Installation of Officers, as well as some other possible events that being discussed (i.e. Mother's Day Brunch/Dinner, participation in the Jerseyville Memorial Day festivities, and Merchant's Fair Parade). Please bring your ideas and contributions to the joint meetings to help make the Jerseyville Family Center a better place to be. Finally, here are some long range dates to calendar: International Conference (June 28-July 3, 2007 in Orlando, Florida) Illinois State Campout (Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 at Lincoln, IL), Illinois Day (Sept. 8, 2007). Check the newsletter, web page and bulletin board for other events and details, as well as for any events that may be changed or scheduled after the newsletter is published. I once again thank you for the opportunity to serve you this past year
as governor, and look forward to continuing to serve the Jerseyville Moose
Lodge as Jr. Past Governor, serving on event committees that I know the
new board will initiate and/or maintain to keep and make the Jerseyville
Moose Family Center the place in Jerseyville to bring your family to participate
in a variety of activities geared for all ages.
Yours in fraternal service, |
